Suprovox' History
In 1972 Adela
Tejada opened her first store of Musical Instruments
in Guipuzcoa (Spain), named “Musical 72” and located
in the city center of San Sebastian. At that time there weren’t
famous musical bands around the area, but soon thanks to the
big selection of musical instruments that the store bought
and to world wide famous bands as “The Beatles”, “Bee
Gees”, “Rolling Stones”, “Simon and
Garfunkel”…, and more the young generation of
San Sebastian started feeling more and more attracted to this
kind of music and therefore buying musical instruments such
as electric guitars, amplifiers, drums, keyboards and so on.
In 1979, after
working 7 years non stop for the store, Adela Tejada saw clearly
that the international market was offering brands that our Spanish
musicians couldn’t find in the country, so she decided
to import them to Spain with a new company called Suprovox.

In this new company, with a lot of hard work
we got to be the exclusive distributors for important brands
such as Dean
Markley, Seymour Duncan, Vox, Doobie or Sonor and so
on. These brands little by little got to sell the best and
bigger stores of the country.
In 1994, due to
the fast growth, we saw the necessity of getting a new and bigger
warehouse. Therefore we moved to our actual location in Urnieta
(Guipuzcoa) with 15.000 square feet. Thanks to a larger space
we could have a more organized warehouse logistic and we were
able to offer a better service to our customers. At that time
we were counting with the distribution of brands such as
Crate, Ampeg, Sabian, ESP, Vic-Firth,
Peace or Tune and so on.

In 1998, a big
surprise pops up, due to the good references about excellent
logistic, marketing and distribution that our supplies were giving
around the market. They offered the exclusive distribution for
Spain of the world wide famous brand of drums “Pearl”,
and right after that, Suprovox added to their catalogue other
awesome brands such as LTD, Simon and Patrick,
Cherub, Star Sun, Mega, Caliber...
In 2006 we opened
a new building of 5,382 square feet as an extra storage area
to the one that we actually have. Thanks to this expansion, we
got to be able to stock more merchandise.

Suprovox has grown as a company, but their biggest
growth has been as a team, as a family. The employees love what
they do, Suprovox is their second family, is their second life.
They dedicate all their energy on finding every day how to improve
their work, and the most important, they are loyal.
But for Suprovox, its key strength and competitive
advantage are their “team”, persons who love their
work and who do it enthusiastically and with loyalty.
I’d
like to mention and give my thanks to Milagros
Eizaguirre, our
Administration Manager, and José Antonio Cordon, our Logistics
Department Manager, who have been working in Suprovox for more
than 25 years.
Thanks very much to of all our Customers and
Suppliers. for their continue support and compromise with us.
Adela Tejada
